BREAKING! High Court Dismisses Col. Besigye’s Bail Application

Veteran politician Kizza Besigye and his aide Hajj Obeid Lutale’s bail application has been dismissed by the High Court in a ruling by Judge Baguma Emmanuel delivered by email.

 

Besigye, through his lawyers had today, 8th August, 2025, applied for mandatory bail based on the legal provision that a suspect should not be held in Prison for over 180 days without prosecution.

 

The judge had earlier refused to deliver Kizza Besigye’s bail ruling in open court saying he would email it to the lawyers by 4pm.

 

Meanwhile, Winnie Byanyima, wife to Besigye spent most of her time at Luzira Maximum Security Prison where she had gone to visit her partner hoping to walk back home with him.
