Ministry of Internal Affairs statement 14th August, 2025

Ministry of Internal Affairs Headquarters is currently experiencing a temporary breakdown of internet and internet-based services affecting some Passport and Visa related services.

According to the Ministry’s press statement issued today, 14th August, 2025, the temporary breakdown is due to a fibre cut.

“Passport Applicants are temporarily unable to access the Passport portal or obtain services for Personalization/interviews,” reads the statement in part.

Other services affected include work permits, and student passes although these can be accessed at other regional offices across the country.

However, the eVisa portal is not affected and is working normally. The Ministry promises to update the public on the restoration of services immediately it is done.
