There was shock in Budaka district on Friday, 5th September, 2025 after 17 year old boy raped a girl aged seven.
According to Wilfred Kyempasa, the Bukedi North Region Police Spokesperson, the suspect identified as Emmanuel Olupot, 17 years old and a resident of Rweta A cell, Kagwese Ward in Budaka district was caught red-handed after the victim made an alarm that attracted a neighbor only identified as Kenneth.
Kyempasa says the victim left their home at around 11:00AM to Kenneth’s shop to buy some Biscuits of Shs200, but on her way back home she found the suspect who sent her to call for him a girl she knew by appearance.
In the process, Olupot started following her and later grabbed her, covered her mouth and took her to a nearby bathroom and removed her skirt and pant.
According to the girl, Olupot started to put empty sacks of cement in the bathroom, and she became suspicious and asked him what he was trying to do. Later Olupot placed his fingers in a polythene bag (kavera) and pushed in her private parts while covering her face with the skirt he had removed.
“The man went ahead and performed unprotected sex with the girl, but she managed to make an alarm and one Kenneth responded and found the man in the act,” says Kyempasa.
The suspect was arrested and taken to Pallisa Central police station vide SD 25/5/9/2025.
He adds that it has been established that the victim was sexually abused because the hymen was torn and fresh bruises observed.
