JUST IN! UPDF Releases Shortlists of Aspiring Candidates for General Recruitment, 2025

UPDF PRESS RELEASE 31 JULY 2025

Uganda Peoples Defence Forces, (UPDF) has released the shortlists for both Regular and professional recruitment for 2025.

 

This is revealed in a press statement issued by UPDF Mouthpiece, Major General Felix Kulayigye today 31st July, 2025.

 

He says the shortlists follow the successful exercise of submission of applications by candidates aspiring to join the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF).

 

“We are delighted to announce that the lists of those shortlisted are ready for viewing on the UPDF website www.updf.go.ug/careers/, at the District or Municipal headquarters,” says Kulayigye.

 

The physical recruitment exercise will begin on the 05 August 2025 and end on the 15 August 2025 at different recruitment centres as earlier published.

 

Those shortlisted should report with three passport photographs and an application letter signed by LC 1, DISO, and GISO. Report with their original academic documents.

 

Those who did not indicate their district of residence in their applications will report to the districts mentioned on their national identification cards.

 

Kulayigye warns that those who report with forged documents will face prosecution adding that only shortlisted candidates should appear at the recruitment centres.

 

Successful candidates must report to the Kaweweta Basic Military Training School in Ngoma-Nakaseke District within three days of recruitment.
