NAKASONGOLA: Kidnapper Tracked to Bush Hiding With Kidnaped Child, Survives Lynching

A man who kidnapped a child on the evening of August 6, 2025, at around 9:00 PM from Nabiswera village, Kyangogolo parish, Nabiswera Sub-county in Nakasongola District has been arrested hiding in a bush with the 3 year old.

 

According to ASP, S Twiineamazima, the Police Spokesperson, Savannah region, the suspect identified as Asingwire Erisa, approximately 25 years old was tracked down to his hideout on Thursday, 7th August 2025 at about 2:00PM with the boy.

 

He says that the police conducted the operation following tip-off from a witness who had sighted the suspect with the victim in Nabiswera Sub County.

 

Asingwire had earlier demanded a ransom of Shs10 million for the release of the victim from the boy’s father, Jameson, a Manager at Nabiswera Livestock Cooperative Society.

 

Upon recovery, the victim was found alive, however, a mob present at the scene descended on the suspect and inflicted serious injuries.

 

The suspect is currently hospitalized at Nakasongola Hospital and is in critical condition.

 

During the operation, a mobile phone, which had been used by the suspect to demand the ransom, was recovered and is currently in custody as evidence.

 

A witness statement has been obtained, and investigations are ongoing
