President Museveni Reveals NRM District Registrars Arrested Over Vote Alterations

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, also National Chairman NRM Party has named eight districts whose Registrars have been arrested for allegedly altering vote tallies.

Museveni’s statement on recent NRM Primary elections

In a statement issued on Monday, 21st July, 2025, President Museveni names the eight districts as; Mayuge, Buyende, Kapchorwa, Pader, Oyam, Rwampaara, Kareenga and Mbarara.

 

Museveni who says the State Agencies have started the necessary anti-crime actions against self-seekers, revealed that the first culprits are those, “clear cases of the idiots alleged to have altered the results in the tallying.”

 

He says that other cases of bribery, violence and interference of registers are also being followed up.

 

The NRM EC Tribunal is currently receiving petitions from disgruntled candidates, many of whom have pointed fingers to Registrars favoring certain candidates.
