Security Guard Charged With Murder of TikTok Influencer Diana Skyz in Kampala

A security guard has been formally charged with the murder of Ugandan TikTok influencer Diana Skyz, whose real name was Diana Namulinde, in a case that has sparked widespread reaction across social media.
The suspect, identified as Marvin Webisa, appeared before the City Hall Chief Magistrate’s Court in Kampala where he was charged with murder, rape and aggravated robbery. Prosecutors allege that the offences occurred at the influencer’s residence in Kyanja, a suburb of Kampala.
Body Discovered in Kyanja Apartment
According to police, concerns were raised after the 24-year-old content creator failed to respond to calls and messages. Her body was later discovered inside her apartment in Kyanja. Authorities say preliminary findings suggest she was strangled.
Investigators also allege that several personal items were stolen from the residence, forming the basis of the aggravated robbery charge. Some of the reported stolen property was allegedly recovered during the investigation.
Because murder and rape are capital offences under Ugandan law, the magistrate’s court did not take a plea from the accused. The case will proceed to the High Court for further handling. The suspect has been remanded to Luzira Prison pending mention of the case.

The death of Diana Skyz has sent shockwaves through Uganda’s online community, where she had built a significant following on TikTok and other social media platforms. Tributes from fans and fellow content creators continue to pour in as calls for justice grow louder.
Police have urged the public to remain calm and avoid speculation as investigations continue.
The case remains under active investigation.
