TORORO
A devastating accident has shaken the community of Tororo Municipality, claiming the life of a promising young primary seven candidate.
Robert Victor Olowo, a Primary Seven candidate at Industrial View Primary School, lost his life in a tragic incident along the Tororo-Mbale road on Wednesday, 30th July, 2025.
According to eyewitnesses, Olowo was walking by the roadside when a car, registration number UBH 138E, lost control and knocked him down.
The accident occurred near the sewerage bridge at Mile One on Mbale Road. Despite the car moving at a low speed, the impact was fatal.
The loss of Olowo has sent shockwaves through the community, with residents expressing deep concern over the rising number of accidents claiming lives in the area.
This incident follows another fatal accident that occurred on Tuesday along the Tororo-Busia road, which claimed the lives of four people.
Stephen Ochieng, Chairperson of the School Management Committee at Industrial View Primary School, described Olowo as a bright and disciplined student. “We have lost a promising candidate, and this loss is felt deeply by the entire school community,” Ochieng said.
The incident has sparked an outpouring of grief and concern among residents, who are calling for increased measures to improve road safety in the area.
As the community mourns the loss of a young life, questions are being raised about the safety of roads and the need for urgent action to prevent such tragedies in the future.
