Police has arrested a Primary School teacher red-handed attempting to defile his 16 year old P.7 pupil inside a lodge.
According to Wilfred Kyempasa the Bukedi North region police spokesperson, Eria Odongo, 30 year teacher of Nampiido primary school and resident of Tirinyi central A village, Tirinyi Sub county in Kibuku district was arrested on Wednesday, 17th March, 2026 with the pupil, (names withheld) at about 9:30AM.
Kyempasa says Odongo lured the girl out of class by asking her to escort him to the market to do some shopping, something that attracted the head teacher’s suspicion who asked him whether he was moving out with the girl because she was sick.
The suspect however, confused the head teacher as well by saying the girl had been sent by her mother to purchase some items for Eid El Fitri.
The PRO says, the pair then moved on a motorcycle to a certain lodge room in Budaka District where the teacher started demanding for sex from the pupil, prompting her to make an alarm because the teacher had started touching her.
Kyempasa adds that the alarm attracted neighbours who responded to the scene and forced him to open. The teacher was handcuffed and taken to Budaka CPS where he is currently detained.
