BUDADIRI

Former Budadiri East MP, 2016-2021, Vincent Woboya has been nominated to contest in the NRM Primaries for Budadiri East MP Seat, 2026-2031.
Woboya who was nominated on Monday, 23rd June, 2025 is confident he will retain the NRM flag which he currently holds basing on his past record in serving his constituents saying the mases are losing what they benefited during his tenure.

Speaking to this Publication on Friday, June 27, 2025, Woboya revealed his desire to complete the projects he started while MP in the 10th Parliament. Most of these projects have unfortunately been abandoned to deteriorate or incomplete by the current MP, FDC’s Isaiah Sasaga.
Woboya initiated a project of constructing 10 metallic ladders in hilly areas his team had mapped. However, he managed to support the construction of three. Unfortunately the Butandiga/Sigwa ladders have gotten spoilt due to weather but the incumbent MP has turned a deaf ear leaving the ladders to deteriorate further.

Some of the voters this publication spoke to say, they can’t forget the Community Livelihood project of distributing onion seeds to farmers in mountainous areas that Woboya initiated, but has since stalled.
Water supply is a challenge that Woboya started to address while area MP by particularly constructing small gravitational water schemes to support Horticultural farmers. This initiative has also stalled, and the NRM diehard promises to see it through when re-elected to Parliament.
“I implore my people to send me back to Parliament because as they see themselves, representation of Constituency issues on the Floor of Parliament has been missing since 2021. The incumbent is just sleeping on job,” says Woboya.

Mungao James, a resident of Bugitimwa Sub County recalls the Community access routes that Woboya had started working on. These access routes require culverts or wood for construction of wooden bridges to help residents in hard-to-reach areas be able to carry their agricultural produce to markets.
“Since 2021, no one has thought of working on these access routes, it is one of the reasons we want Woboya to go back to Parliament,” says Mungao.
Woboya encourages empowering women through community led savings by training them on savings culture and management, providing start-up savings and relevant tools to carry out various activities.

Upon appointment as Minister for Disaster Preparedness in Umukuka III’s cabinet, Woboya has been central in supporting and advocating for permanent solution to people living in risk prone areas. He also led a mobilization drive that saw donations from abroad towards uplifting the lives of Internally Displaced Persons at Bunamutye Resettlement Camp.
Whereas this is a general drive covering the whole Bugisu Sub Region, Woboya has voters who are equally affected by landslides especially in the Sub Counties of Zesui, Masaba, and Bugitimwa.
Finally, Woboya makes a direct appeal to the people of Budadiri East to re-elect him because he is the best candidate they have arguing that for the last five years, Budadiri East has been under FDC and has missed out of the national cake.
“I have the experience of legislating for them, I have delivered on my pre-2016 pledges such as advocating for a Seed School at Bugitimwa Sub county, advocated for the tamarcking of the Namagumba, Nalugu-Budadiri Circular road which is now under construction,” Woboya boasts of his achievements.
Mwambu Stuart, NRM Chairman Busiita Sub County, says it was through the efforts of Hon. Woboya that people of Budadiri benefited in getting new Administrative Units which included Mutufu Town Council, Butandiga Town Council, Busiita Sub County, Namaguli Sub County and Kikobero Sub County.
