The Fuso truck, registration number UAX 304E, was traveling from Kapchrowa to Mbale with vendors and a load of bananas

A tragic accident has occurred at the Bulambuli-Kapchrowa road in Chepukati village, Kawowo sub-county this Tuesday afternoon, 29th July, 2025 when a truck loaded with bananas and passengers from Chema market overturned.

 

One passenger died on the spot while three others are in critical condition.

 

The Fuso truck, registration number UAX 304E, was traveling from Kapchrowa to Mbale with vendors and a load of bananas. The driver lost control of the vehicle due to brake system failure, resulting in the accident.

 

The deceased is identified as Muhammad Natala, a resident of Mbale City. The driver and two other passengers who have not yet been identified are in critical condition and are being treated at Muyembe Health Center IV in neighboring Bulambuli district.

 

Fredmark Chesang, the Sipi region police spokesperson says the body has been taken to Kapchrowa Hospital for a post-mortem examination, while the truck has been impounded at Kapchrowa Police Station as investigations continue.
