BREAKING NEWS: Munyagwa Rallies Busoga Behind His Presidential Bid, Vows to Defend the ‘Common Man’
Kamuli, Uganda – October 5, 2025
Mubarak Munyagwa Sserunga, the presidential candidate for the Common Man’s Party, has urged residents of Kamuli District and the greater Busoga Sub-region to rally behind his leadership bid, pledging to fight for justice, equality, and the rights of ordinary Ugandans.
While addressing congregants after Saturday prayers at Kamuli Central Mosque, Munyagwa emphasized the challenges faced by the Muslim community, calling for unity and resilience:
“We remain like an endangered species; whenever something goes wrong, Muslims are the first to be blamed. I am the only Muslim in this race, so remember, we are here to fight for the common man,” he said.
He dismissed political showmanship, saying true leadership comes from humility, not fanfare:
“Even Prophet Muhammad and Jesus Christ rose from humble beginnings. That’s the path I intend to follow.”
After making 10 stopovers, Munyagwa greeted crowds along the road and later addressed a major rally at Kamuli Mayor’s Gardens, where he outlined his vision of fair national resource distribution:
“Our party symbol, the silver plate, represents an equal share of the national cake. When I go to State House, I will ensure every sub-region gets its fair portion.”
Munyagwa also threw his weight behind Gen. Moses Bigirwa, the party’s Secretary General and MP flag bearer for Kamuli Municipality, urging residents to elect leaders who “understand and stand with the common citizen.”
The candidate is set to continue his Busoga campaign trail today in Buyende District, west of Kamuli.
