Police Probe Death of Bryan White’s Girlfriend Amid Conflicting Reports

Police in Katwe have opened a full-scale investigation into the mysterious death of city socialite Bryan White’s girlfriend, identified as Caroline Nalubwama, who allegedly died following a suspected gas explosion at his residence in Kampala.

According to police sources, Nalubwama, aged 25, was reportedly injured in the alleged explosion before being rushed to Kiruddu National Referral Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival. The hospital’s official records indicate that she died at 4:30 p.m. on October 27, 2025.

However, Bryan White — real name Brian Kirumira — reportedly told police that the explosion occurred at 7:00 p.m., creating a three-hour discrepancy between his account and the hospital records. This inconsistency has raised serious questions about the true circumstances surrounding Nalubwama’s death.

As a result, police detectives have retrieved CCTV footage from Bryan White’s home to establish the actual time of the incident and the sequence of events leading up to it.

The deceased’s father, Mr. Tom Mutyaba, officially reported the matter at Katwe Police Station under file number DEF:73/2025, prompting the Kampala Metropolitan Police to open an investigation led by homicide detectives and forensic experts.

Police teams, including officers from the Fire and Rescue Services, Forensic Department, and Homicide Unit, have since cordoned off Bryan White’s residence for examination. Items recovered from the scene include burnt clothes and curtains, though investigators say the extent of fire damage was minimal, casting further doubt on the gas explosion theory.

Preliminary findings also reveal that the incident occurred in a different room from the one where the deceased was residing, deepening the mystery and prompting detectives to consider other possible causes of the fire and injury.

Meanwhile, Bryan White is currently admitted at Mildmay Hospital in Lweza Zone, along Entebbe Road, where he is said to be receiving treatment for injuries sustained during the incident. Police officers have been stationed at the hospital to monitor his condition and obtain an official statement once he is stable.

The deceased’s body has been transferred to Mulago City Mortuary for a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

Police spokespersons have not yet issued an official statement to the media, but sources close to the investigation indicate that the conflicting timelines, limited fire damage, and unclear circumstances have turned the case into a possible homicide investigation rather than an accidental explosion.

Detectives continue to review CCTV footage, forensic evidence, and witness statements to establish what exactly happened at Bryan White’s residence on the evening of October 27, 2025.
