**Top Story: Bryan White’s Wife, Nava Nakato, Arrested Over Suspicious Death of 25-Year-Old Woman**

Kampala socialite Bryan Kirumira, also known as *Bryan White*, is once again at the center of a controversial case involving his wife, Nava Nakato, who has been arrested in connection with the tragic death of 25-year-old Caroline Nalubwama.

Nalubwama, who had recently returned from Dubai, died at Kiruddu Hospital after suffering severe burn injuries, reportedly sustained at White’s residence in Kyamula, Makindye Division. While White claims that the injuries resulted from a gas cylinder explosion during cooking, Nalubwama’s family members have vehemently rejected this explanation, alleging foul play. They claim that Nalubwama had been involved in a romantic relationship with White and suspect her death may have been linked to ritualistic practices.

According to sources, investigators have found grass-thatched structures at White’s home that are suspected to be shrines, raising further suspicions. The deceased’s father, Ssalongo Tom Mutyaba, spoke to police about a phone call from White, informing him of his daughter’s death while she was allegedly being treated at a shrine. This has prompted a broader investigation, with the case being transferred from Katwe to Natete Division for further scrutiny.

Speaking at a press briefing, Kampala Metropolitan deputy spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire revealed significant discrepancies in White’s account of events. White had stated that Nalubwama was burned on October 24 and that he reported the incident on October 27. However, evidence shows she was admitted to Mabilizi Nursing Home on October 22 and remained there until October 27, when her condition worsened, and she was transferred to Kiruddu Hospital.

Police have also uncovered that Nalubwama’s treatment was delayed due to unpaid medical bills, allegedly refused by White. “Investigations suggest that Bryan White attempted to handle the matter privately, without informing the authorities, even as the victim’s condition worsened,” Owoyesigyire said. The hospital reportedly withheld Nalubwama’s care until her bills were cleared, prompting police to arrest Joyce Irene Nambalirwa, the facility owner, for negligence.

In addition to Nakato, three other individuals—Daisy Nalunga and Daphne Abaho—have been detained in connection with the case. White, who remains hospitalized under police guard, is no stranger to legal controversies. In 2017, he and his bodyguard were charged with attempted murder after allegedly shooting a neighbor, Victor Bitwire, though the charges were later dropped. He also faced fraud-related charges in 2020 over unpaid debts and the alleged fraudulent acquisition of a luxury car.

As police continue their investigation, the case has drawn significant attention, with many questioning the true circumstances behind Nalubwama’s tragic death and the involvement of those closest to her.
