**BREAKING: Uganda Police Name Shamba Boy as Prime Suspect in Kidnapping of Employer’s 6-Year-Old Son in Kampala**
Uganda Police have identified a shamba boy as the prime suspect in the suspected kidnapping of a six-year-old child in Kampala.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP) spokesperson SP Rachael Kawala, the suspect has been identified as **Muchunguzi David**, a shamba boy and resident of **Ddungu Zone, Kisaasi, Kawempe Division, Kampala District**.
Police say the alleged kidnapping occurred on **Saturday, December 12, 2025**, when Muchunguzi reportedly left home with the minor, **Mpirwe Tumwesigye Abraham**, at around **4:00 PM** and failed to return.
“It is alleged that on 12/12/2025 at around 1600 hours in Ddungu Zone, Kawempe Division, Kampala District, Muchunguzi David, who was employed as a shamba boy by **Dr. Tumwesigye Emmanuel**, left with the victim, **Mpirwe Tumwesigye Abraham**, to an unknown destination and did not return,” SP Kawala said.
A case of kidnapping has since been reported at **Universal Police Post**, where statements were recorded. Police say efforts to trace and arrest the suspect are ongoing.
Authorities have appealed to the public to provide any information that may lead to the arrest of the suspect and the safe recovery of the child.
“The public is urged to share any information regarding the whereabouts of the suspect or the victim with the police to aid investigations and ensure the safe return of the child,” Kawala added.
