UPDF, Police Take Community Outreach to Entebbe as Tarehe Sita Nears

UPDF, Police Intensify Community Outreach in Entebbe Ahead of Tarehe Sita Celebrations

The Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) and the Uganda Police Force have intensified community outreach activities in Entebbe Municipality as preparations gather momentum for Tarehe Sita celebrations, which mark the UPDF’s historic journey and contribution to national security.

Security personnel have been engaging residents through community dialogues, health outreach, and civic education initiatives aimed at strengthening cooperation between civilians and security agencies. The engagements focus on promoting community policing, patriotism, and public awareness ahead of the national event.

According to security officials, the outreach programme is intended to foster trust, improve information sharing, and ensure a safe and peaceful environment during the Tarehe Sita commemorations. Residents were encouraged to work closely with security agencies and report suspicious activities.

The activities in Entebbe form part of a wider UPDF civil-military cooperation strategy, which is being implemented across selected parts of the country ahead of the celebrations. Tarehe Sita is observed annually to commemorate the launch of the armed struggle that led to the establishment of the current government.

Local leaders welcomed the initiative, noting that increased engagement between security agencies and the public enhances safety and promotes unity at the grassroots level.

As Uganda prepares to mark Tarehe Sita, security agencies have reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining peace, safeguarding lives and property, and strengthening relations with communities across the country.
