Senior Presidential Advisor Moses Karangwa Kalisa Dies After Tragic Road Accident

Senior Presidential Advisor and Kayunga District chairperson of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM), Moses Karangwa Kalisa, has died following a tragic road accident in Kayunga District.

Karangwa was involved in the crash on Sunday evening at Ssukka village near the Lake Oil Pump Fuel Station along the Kayunga road. He was first rushed to Kayunga Hospital for emergency treatment before being transferred to Nakasero Hospital in Kampala, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The death was confirmed by Minister for the Presidency Milly Babalanda in a statement shared on her official X account.

“It is with deep sorrow that I announce the passing of the Senior Presidential Advisor and Chairperson of NRM Kayunga District, Moses Karangwa Kalisa, following a tragic accident,” Babalanda said.

She described Karangwa as a committed cadre of the NRM who dedicated his life to serving the party and the country.

“He will be remembered for his loyalty and service to the National Resistance Movement,” she added while extending condolences to the bereaved family.

Karangwa was a prominent political figure in Kayunga District and played a key role in mobilising support for the ruling party in the region.

Authorities have not yet released full details regarding the circumstances surrounding the accident, and investigations into the crash are ongoing.

His death comes as leaders and supporters across Uganda continue to send messages of condolence to his family, friends, and political associates.

This is a developing story.
