Man (60) gets a month in jail for raping a cow at a petting zoo

A 60-year-old man has been sentenced to one month in prison after pleading guilty to sexually abusing a cow at a petting zoo, an incident that shocked visitors and animal welfare advocates.

The man appeared before court after being arrested in connection with the offence, which reportedly took place at a popular petting zoo where families and children regularly interact with animals.

According to prosecutors, the accused was caught engaging in a sexual act with a cow inside the zoo premises. Staff members who witnessed the incident immediately alerted authorities, leading to his arrest.

During court proceedings, the man admitted to the offence. The court described the act as disturbing and a violation of animal welfare laws, emphasizing the need to protect animals from abuse and cruelty.

The presiding magistrate sentenced him to one month in jail, noting that such behaviour is unacceptable and must be deterred through appropriate punishment.

Animal rights organisations welcomed the conviction, saying it sends a strong message that acts of animal abuse will not be tolerated. They urged members of the public to report any cases of cruelty or mistreatment involving animals.

The case has attracted widespread public attention, with many expressing outrage on social media over the incident. Authorities have also encouraged petting zoos and animal facilities to strengthen surveillance and security measures to prevent similar occurrences.

The convicted man will serve his sentence immediately.
