Daughter Builds Mum Lovely House after Working in Saudi Arabia for 4 Years

According to reports, Peninah’s mother had struggled without a stable home, something that deeply troubled her daughter.

Determined to change her mother’s living conditions, Peninah decided to seek employment abroad. She eventually secured a domestic worker’s job in Saudi Arabia, where she spent four years working and saving whatever money she could.

Her commitment gradually paid off as she managed to put up a stone house in Nyahururu.

For Peninah, the building represented more than just a property. It was a symbol of sacrifice, determination and her desire to give her mother the comfort she had always wanted.

Peninah Moves to Oman After Working in Saudi Arabia

After completing her four-year working stint in Saudi Arabia, Peninah reportedly relocated to Oman in search of further employment opportunities.

Unfortunately, her stay in Oman took an unexpected turn when her child became seriously ill.

Upon receiving the distressing news, Peninah reportedly abandoned her employment contract and returned to Kenya so she could be with her child during the difficult period.

The decision came at a significant financial cost because she had to use the money she had been saving to complete her mother’s house to cater for hospital expenses.

Sadly, despite the efforts to save the child’s life, Peninah’s son passed away, with his burial reportedly taking place the week before the latest reports emerged.

The loss left Peninah facing another painful chapter after years of working hard to improve her family’s circumstances.

House Remains Unfinished Despite Money Spent on Construction

When Kenyan content creator Paxson Chege visited Peninah’s home in Nyahururu on November 4, 2026, he found a substantial stone structure that reflected the effort she had invested over the years.

Although the house was standing, it was still far from being ready for occupation.

Reports indicated that the building lacked essential finishing features, including installed doors, windows and roofing materials.

Interestingly, Peninah had already purchased several construction materials, including doors and tiles, but lacked the money needed to pay a fundi to complete the installation work.

Her situation highlights how unexpected family emergencies can derail even carefully planned projects, particularly for people who depend on income earned through employment abroad.

Peninah Appeals to Well-Wishers for Help

Following the loss of her child and the financial difficulties that followed, Peninah is reportedly appealing to Kenyans and well-wishers for assistance.

One of her immediate goals is to raise money to renew her passport so she can travel back to the Gulf and secure another employment opportunity.

She hopes that returning to work abroad will allow her to rebuild her finances, complete her mother’s house and provide the family with the comfortable home she originally envisioned.

Peninah is also reportedly worried about her mother’s welfare and remains determined not to abandon the dream that motivated her to leave Kenya in the first place.

Kenyans Moved by Peninah Wangari’s Story

Her journey has drawn attention to the sacrifices made by many Kenyan women working in Saudi Arabia, Oman and other Gulf countries to support their families back home.

For some, overseas employment offers an opportunity to build homes, educate children and improve the living conditions of ageing parents.

However, Peninah’s experience also demonstrates the uncertainty that can accompany such sacrifices.

After spending four years working towards her mother’s dream home, she was forced to redirect her savings towards her child’s medical needs before suffering the devastating loss of her son.

Despite everything, her determination to return to work and finish the house remains a significant part of her story.

For Peninah Wangari, the unfinished bungalow in Nyahururu represents years of hard work, a mother’s love and a dream she is still hoping to fulfil.
