TOP STORY: Rashford Set for Barcelona Move – Will He Shine in Spain?
Published 08:35 BST
Marcus Rashford’s future is taking a bold new turn.
The Manchester United forward has been cleared to complete a season-long loan move to Barcelona, in what could become one of the most intriguing transfers of the summer.
Spanish paper Mundo Deportivo led with “Welcome Rashford” on its front page today, confirming the 27-year-old arrived in the Catalan capital late Sunday. He’s expected to undergo a medical today, be officially unveiled on Wednesday afternoon, and join Barça’s pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea just a day later. He may even don the No. 19 shirt — previously worn by rising star Lamine Yamal.
This marks Barcelona’s second signing of the 2025/26 window and a significant personal pivot for Rashford, who made clear last December that he was open to a new challenge after falling out of favour under United boss Ruben Amorim.
While Rashford’s form has fluctuated in recent seasons, his raw pace and ability to produce big moments still make him a potential game-changer. He now joins a Barcelona side that is retooling under new management and looking to return to European dominance.
