President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is set to release 100 million shillings to each Ghetto youth group across the country in the month of August, 2025.

Emmanuel Kutusa, the Special Presidential Assistant for Youth Affairs, confirmed this on Wednesday, 20th August, 2025, during a meeting with Ghetto youths from the Bugisu region at North Road Primary School. He stated that the funds will be disbursed to Ghetto youth SACCOs’ accounts this month.

According to Kutusa, after the release of the funds, the youths will be invited to State House, where they will be handed cheques before withdrawing the money.

Khusain Kadimba, the Assistant Resident City Commissioner for Mbale City’s Industrial City Division, explained that the President’s initiative aims to empower Ghetto youths by providing them with capital to start small businesses.

Kadimba noted that the President had observed that opposition politicians were exploiting idle Ghetto youths to engage in criminal activities, such as demonstrations and arson.

Alie Busiku, the Ghetto President for the Bugisu region, welcomed the news, stating that most Ghetto youth SACCO groups have started saving and are ready to utilize the funds productively.

He added that they are no longer willing to be used by opposition politicians and instead look forward to supporting the President
