How Incumbent Dr. Chris Baryomunsi Lost NRM Vice Chairperson Western Uganda Race

Dr. Chris Baryomunsi has joined the list of NRM CEC incumbents who have been voted out by merciless delegates at Kololo Independence Ceremonial Grounds.

 

Baryomunsi who is incumbent Chairperson NRM Vice Chairperson Western Uganda lost the race to Engineer Asiimwe Jonard in a tight contest that took place on Wednesday, 27th August 2025.

CEC RESULTS WESTERN

Asiimwe garnered 4044 votes representing 58.9 percent beating Baryomunsi who only managed 2303 votes representing 33.6%.

 

 

 

Others including Mawanda Michael who got zero votes performed as follows: Bwengye Lauben 55 votes, Kamugisha Blaise 339, Kamuganga Dick 49, Byaruhanga Barigye 60, and Atuhe Innocent.

 

Baryomunsi joins Capt Mike Mukula who withdrew from the race for NRM Vice Chairman Eastern Uganda at the last minute, endorsing his rival, Calvin Echodu who eventually won with a landslide.
