Breaking: Putin Rejects Ukraine Peace Deal After U.S. Talks as NATO Foreign Ministers Convene

BRUSSELS / KYIV — December 3, 2025. Russian President Vladimir Putin has rejected a proposed peace deal on Ukraine following high-level discussions with U.S. officials, as NATO foreign ministers convened in Brussels to address the escalating conflict.

The Kremlin described the peace proposal as “unacceptable,” asserting that it failed to meet Russia’s political and security demands. Putin emphasized that Russian military operations in Ukraine would continue until the country achieves its stated objectives.

U.S. officials confirmed that discussions with Moscow were “constructive” but stopped short of producing a formal agreement. The talks aimed to explore potential pathways for a ceasefire and a broader resolution to the conflict, but no consensus was reached.

At the same time, NATO foreign ministers met to coordinate the alliance’s response, focusing on support for Ukraine and bolstering deterrence along NATO’s eastern borders. Additional economic and military assistance to Kyiv is reportedly under discussion.

Ukrainian leaders condemned Putin’s rejection of the peace deal, reaffirming their commitment to defending their territory. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that sustained international support is vital for Ukraine’s defense and diplomatic efforts.

Analysts warn that the rejection could prolong the conflict, increase regional tensions, and complicate diplomatic negotiations in the months ahead.
