They Escaped From School — Later Found Drinking Alcohol, Police Say

Police locate missing students off campus after school escape; alcohol discovered during search

Students who escaped from their school during class hours were later found drinking alcohol, police confirmed, prompting concern from school officials and parents.

According to authorities, school staff reported several students missing after they left campus without permission. When attempts to locate them internally failed, police were contacted and a search was launched in nearby areas.

Officers later found the students off school grounds, where they were discovered in possession of alcohol. Police said the students were safe, and no medical emergencies were reported.

School administrators described the incident as a serious breach of school safety rules. “Leaving campus without authorization is dangerous and unacceptable,” a school spokesperson said. Disciplinary action is expected, and parents or guardians were notified shortly after the students were located.

Police also addressed the alcohol discovery, noting that underage drinking remains a legal and safety concern. Authorities did not release additional details about potential charges.

Following the incident, the school announced it would review supervision procedures and reinforce campus security measures to prevent similar situations in the future.

The episode, which began as a school escape, ended as a reminder that freedom without planning — and without permission — tends to be short-lived.
