A man identified as Simon Kalamu has reportedly collapsed and died during an alleged sexual encounter in Luuka District, prompting police investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
According to reports by Daily Monitor, the deceased was a resident of Namulanda B Village in Namulanda Parish, Bukooma Sub-county.
Busoga North Police spokesperson SP Samson Lubega said the incident occurred on Monday at around 9pm. Preliminary reports indicate that Kalamu and a 40-year-old woman, who had recently given birth and is also a resident of the same area, allegedly moved to a nearby bush where they engaged in sexual intercourse.
Police said the pair reportedly completed the first round before Kalamu suddenly collapsed during the second round.
“The woman immediately raised an alarm, attracting nearby residents who later informed local authorities,” Lubega said.
Residents who responded to the scene expressed shock over the sudden death. One resident, who requested anonymity, claimed the deceased was known for engaging in multiple extramarital relationships and frequently consuming energy drinks and herbal substances.
“He had a habit of taking energy drinks and local herbs. He was also involved in relationships with different women. We suspect he could have suffered a cardiac arrest,” the resident alleged.
Police confirmed that the body was taken for a postmortem examination as investigations continue to establish the exact cause of death.
The incident has sparked widespread discussion among residents in Luuka District, with authorities urging the public to avoid speculation until medical findings are released.
