27 Women, One Man Arrested in Uganda Over Alleged Pornographic Content Production Ring

27 Women, One Man Arrested as Police Probe Alleged Pornography and Human Trafficking Ring in Wakiso

Police in Kira Municipality are investigating a suspected human trafficking and pornography network after 27 young women were allegedly found in a house being used for commercial online adult content activities in Namugongo Division.

The operation was carried out by officers attached to Kira Division following intelligence reports about suspicious activities at a residence in Mbalwa Buyinja Zone, Kyaliwajjala.

According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Rachael Kawala, the raid was conducted on May 18, 2026, at around 8pm after authorities received information that several young women were allegedly being kept in an enclosed residence under suspicious circumstances.

“Police received information indicating that a group of young women was being kept in an enclosed residence and suspected to be involved in illegal activities. Officers immediately responded to the scene,” Kawala said.

During the operation, police reportedly found 27 females aged between 17 and 26 years living in three rooms together with equipment suspected to have been used in online adult content production.

Authorities recovered several items from the residence, including laptops, cameras, and 10 adult devices believed to have been used in the activities under investigation.

Police also arrested one male suspect during the operation. All 27 women and the male suspect are currently being held in police custody as investigators record statements and verify their identities.

Preliminary findings indicate that the group may have been involved in commercial online adult content production, with police now pursuing individuals suspected to have recruited and organised the operation.

Investigators are also examining possible links to human trafficking and exploitation, amid growing concerns over online criminal networks targeting vulnerable young people seeking employment opportunities.

SP Rachael Kawala said police operations are ongoing to identify and arrest the masterminds behind the alleged network.

The latest operation comes amid increased police crackdowns on suspected illegal recruitment schemes, online exploitation, and organised criminal activities across the Kampala Metropolitan area.
