Reports indicate that the 28-year-old defender was attacked by unknown assailants near his residence in Makindye, Kampala, on Tuesday night.
He sustained critical injuries during the assault and was rushed to Case Clinic, where he later died despite efforts by medical personnel to save his life. The attackers reportedly fled after the incident, and investigations into the attack are ongoing.
A Leader On and Off the Pitch
Owori was one of SC Villa’s most experienced players and served as the club’s captain.
During his career, he also played for Vipers SC, Spanish side Vélez CF, and Swedish club Utsiktens BK before returning to SC Villa in 2023.
He played a key role in helping the Jogoos win the 2023/24 Uganda Premier League title, ending the club’s long wait for a league championship.
