KAMPALA, Uganda — Police have launched a search for two pupils who reportedly disappeared from the Uganda School for the Deaf in Ntinda, Kampala, sparking concern among their families, school authorities and the wider community.
The two missing pupils have been identified as Muhoozi Alex, 16, and Mubiru Edrine, 14.
According to preliminary information, the two were last seen at the school at around 1:00 p.m. on July 24, 2026, before they reportedly left the school compound.
Two Pupils Disappear From School
Police said the pupils allegedly jumped over the school’s perimeter wall and left the premises.
They have reportedly not returned to the school or been traced since their disappearance.
Their disappearance has prompted police to intensify efforts to establish their whereabouts and determine what happened after they left the school.
The families and school community are now waiting anxiously for information about the two pupils.
Police Appeal to Public
Police have appealed to members of the public who may have seen the pupils or have information about their whereabouts to come forward.
Authorities say even seemingly minor information could help investigators establish the movements of the two pupils and locate them.
The search is being coordinated by police in the Kira Road area, with investigators following available leads.

Members of the public with information about Muhoozi Alex or Mubiru Edrine are urged to report to the nearest police station.
According to the missing-person appeal, information can also be provided to the CID at Kira Road Police Division on 0740 441 520 or the Head Teacher of Uganda School for the Deaf on 0787 345 817.
Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and immediately share any credible information that could help reunite the pupils with their families.
