Shock as Multi-Vehicle Crash Splits Tesla Cybertruck in Half, 10 Injured Including 3 Children

MARYLAND, United States — Ten people, including three children, have been injured after a moving truck reportedly lost control and crashed into multiple vehicles in a terrifying multi-vehicle accident in Maryland.

The crash happened at around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, at the intersection of Columbia Pike and Fairland Road, according to the Montgomery County Department of Police.

The impact involved at least 10 vehicles and left several people trapped inside separate vehicles as emergency crews rushed to the scene.

Among the vehicles involved was a Tesla Cybertruck, which was reportedly split in half during the collision.

Police initially said between three and four vehicles had been involved before later confirming that the crash involved at least 10 vehicles.

Authorities said the accident began after a moving truck lost control, although the exact circumstances that caused the driver to lose control remain under investigation.

Ten people taken to hospital

Ten people were transported to local hospitals for treatment after sustaining minor injuries. Three of those injured were children.

The Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service said 18 people from seven vehicles were evaluated at the scene. Eight people reportedly declined transportation to hospital.

Several roads in the area were temporarily closed as emergency responders worked to rescue those involved, treat the injured and clear the wreckage.

The extent of the damage to the Tesla Cybertruck drew widespread attention after police confirmed that the vehicle had been “split in half” in the collision.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the crash. The cause of the moving truck losing control has not yet been established.

No further serious injuries were immediately reported.
