Dramatic Moment Texas Police Officer Pulls Man from Burning Car Seconds Before Flames Engulf Vehicle

A Texas police officer has been praised for a dramatic rescue after pulling a man from a burning car just moments before the vehicle was engulfed in flames.

Bodycam and dashcam footage released this week shows Corporal Joshua Swisher rescuing the driver during a frightening incident near Dallas, Texas.

Swisher was conducting a traffic stop on a motorway on June 7 when he was alerted to a nearby vehicle that was emitting smoke.

The officer reportedly directed the vehicle toward the emergency lane as he responded to the developing emergency.

However, moments later, flames suddenly erupted from underneath the car while the driver was still inside.

Realising the danger, Corporal Swisher rushed to the vehicle and pulled the man to safety just seconds before the flames rapidly engulfed the car.

The newly released footage captures the dramatic rescue, showing the officer acting quickly as the situation escalated.

The driver was safely removed from the burning vehicle. Further details about the cause of the fire and whether anyone sustained injuries were not immediately available.

The incident has highlighted the quick response of the Texas police officer, whose actions helped prevent what could have been a far more serious tragedy.
