According to reports by ETV Bharat, the crocodile suddenly appeared in a paddy field, alarming nearby residents.
Villagers subsequently managed to capture the reptile without apparently causing it serious injury.
Footage circulating online shows the crocodile, reportedly measuring nearly five feet long, with its mouth secured using a rope.

Farmer explains why he took crocodile to police
Kumar reportedly said he first spotted the crocodile while working in his paddy field.
He said villagers managed to capture it safely before he attempted to contact the Forest Department for assistance.
“We safely captured it. I first went to the Forest Department office in Kataiya, but found no staff there. I then took the crocodile to Bhimnagar police station. The police personnel immediately informed the Forest Department,” Kumar was quoted as saying.
After police contacted the Forest Department, a team was dispatched to the station to take custody of the crocodile.
Crocodile released into Kosi River
Forest Department officials subsequently rescued the animal and carried out the necessary procedures before releasing it into the Kosi River.
Authorities said precautions were taken during the rescue process to ensure that the crocodile was not injured.
The incident has nevertheless prompted discussion online about how wild animals should be handled when they enter areas occupied by humans.
Social media reacts to viral video
The video attracted thousands of reactions, with social media users expressing both amusement and concern over the way the crocodile was transported.
Some viewers criticised the handling of the reptile and questioned whether tying its mouth and carrying it on someone’s shoulders could amount to animal cruelty.
Others reacted humorously to the unusual scene, while some users expressed surprise at the farmer’s apparent willingness to carry a potentially dangerous wild animal.
The viral footage has helped draw wider attention to the challenges faced by communities living near areas where encounters with wildlife can occur.
Forest Department issues warning
Following the incident, the Forest Department reportedly urged residents not to attempt to capture, harm or transport wild animals themselves.
Officials advised members of the public to immediately contact the Forest Department or local administration whenever they encounter a crocodile or other potentially dangerous wildlife.
Trained rescue teams can then assess the situation and safely relocate the animal.
The incident ended without reported injury to the crocodile, which was eventually released into its natural environment.
