Manchester United Fan Arrested Over Suspected Stolen Cow Meat in Mbarara
Police in Mbarara District have arrested a 41-year-old man after he was allegedly found transporting meat suspected to have been obtained from three stolen cows.
The suspect, identified as Milton Rutagiira, was arrested during an intelligence-led police operation in Mbarara, according to a report published on September 17, 2026.
Suspect Allegedly Transporting Meat to Kasese
According to police, Rutagiira was intercepted while transporting the suspected stolen cow meat.
During questioning, he reportedly told officers that he was transporting the meat to Bwera in Kasese District.
Police have taken him into custody as investigations continue to establish where the meat came from and the circumstances surrounding the alleged slaughter of the three cows.
Police Investigate Source of the Meat
Authorities are now working to determine whether the meat was actually obtained from stolen cattle and whether other people were involved in the alleged incident.
Police are also expected to establish the ownership of the animals and the circumstances under which the cows were allegedly slaughtered.
At the time of the report, Rutagiira remained in police custody pending further investigations and possible charges.
The arrest comes amid continued police efforts to investigate cases involving suspected livestock theft in the region.
